I like the Cup and this is the sort of tie I prefer, a good away day against a bigger side but a beatable one. In the 90's we would of taken our full allocation and had a good day out but times have changed.
Football has become a luxury when it comes to affording 35+ games a season so perhaps missing cup games has become routine for the regular fan.
The FA can take a large part of the blame for the changes in attitude, no replays, rounds being played over 5 different days, selling it's soul.
You have 2 votes to see how we feel about the competition.

Agree mate. I was just thinking last night how exciting it was to have Leeds away in the 4th round - probably the highlight of the season so far... Then I remembered it was 2025 not 1985 and my enthusiasm melted.... I really think football has become pretty shit.

Even just 9 or 10 years ago I would've hated to miss a home game no matter what the KO time. Now I prioritise training in the gym over football, so games like this Saturday are not even a consideration with the stupid 1230 KO time. I feel like I'm in the death-throws of a relationship with football, it just doesn't give me the buzz anymore. What's most important is seeing my mates from football, but most of them only go sporadically now also, so even that pleasure is not a given.

Apologies, I'll stop being so morose....!

Part of your/my problem is that we got to see football at it's best, along with the problem of getting old where not a lot is new to us anymore.
The cost of attending a game has become a bit of a joke, especially an away game.
That's why I find this a decent tie, would be nice if the club subsidised coaches at a very reduced price for a game like this, after all 12m a season from the EFL should allow a little bit to given back to true fans.

The club could do more for the away fan as I think the coach tickets are one of the highest in the division , the coaches leave at silly times which are thought up by someone in an office which as resulted sometimes 2-3 hours early for a match. , take the Portsmouth game. Leaving at 1500 for a19:45 ko. That what puts a lot of fans not using the coahes ,

Leaving that early means that they should make sure there is somewhere you can easily get food & drink near to the ground.
It used to put me off using the coach when the only option/time allowed was to drink in the ground.

I think we all miss parts of the old days and old ground saying that now I'm older I like the facilities we have, not standing in a river of piss on the halfway line for one, but what I really miss most of all is being able to just turn up on the day home or away pay at the door and be able to stand up move around and see all your mates

Have you driven the M25, M3 , M27 that time of day. Nightmare.

It can take an hour and half to get out of London in rush hour, so they are just being cautious leaving that early. Imagine they left at 4pm and got stuck in traffic, and were late for the game?

I loved the fa cup, never missed a final even when I was the big house in Aussie, and going to Cardiff 2004 was my footy dream, but now I don’t give a shit.

But builds in drinking time surely!? 😉

There was a time I went to every game home and away, all f the pre season games and all of the cup games. Have to be picky these days. I cant afford £100 for away games. Leeds away is a good tie. Always lively and always nice to get an extra time winner against them.
