Kevin Muscat

Seems the obvious choice now, since SG has had second thoughts. He's the only one still in the frame who can unite the fan base, who were unanimous in wanting Gerrard back. Strange that no-one in the UK has taken a punt on him previously after his success elsewhere. Maybe the reputation he had as a player doesn't do him any favours over here!

I’ll never understand the fascination with this bloke. An average player who made less than 60 appearances for us, someone who went out of his way to injure and indeed ended fellow professionals careers.

His managerial record is unremarkable too if you take away time spent at clubs in poor leagues, which I suppose would qualify him for the rangers job, other than his one stint in charge at a club in Belgium where he got the sack after six months.

Let’s be honest the only reason some supporters wanted him as manager at Millwall is because they thought he might chin an opposition manager on the touchline. Thank goodness the board went with common sense rather than misguided sentiment from fans who still thought it was the 1970s.

I'm most probably in the minority on here but I couldn't stand the bloke. There's a big difference to being hard and mostly fair, like Hurlock, Rhino etc and him who seemed to be deliberately trying to hurt people. Hated him playing for us. Not many I would say that about.

Same, he was a loose cannon on the pitch, done more harm than good.

Before he played for us, I thought he was an absolute cunt. But I have a soft spot for him now because I always remember him playing well for us (minus Watford away) and being a part of a decent side in 04, his injury definitely contributed to our bad run of form after the semi final.

I wanted him to be our new manager but glad we have ended up with Alex Neil ,under him we have been playing on the front foot a bit more and Billy Mitchell has at last been passing forward which has him looking a far better player
