Just Back v the Rams

If we are not going to play 2 up front then I’d like to see Esse in the 10 role. I like Honeyman but Esse can unlock a defence with ease and can score goals himself. I would like us to utilise him more and feel he’s a bit wasted out wide.

I think patience is needed where Langstaff is concerned.A big step up from L2 football ad reminds me a lot of Gregory, to get the best out him, it's my opinion that he will need to have another forward along side him.

I don't understand this modern game of a single striker and just flooding the midfield..But as someone else has eluded to, NH is a creature of habit, so I won't be holding my breath...

Someone remind me, when was the last time we really used to play two up front?
Was it Gregory & Morison or are we going all the way back to Harris & Morison?

Unfortunately, I won’t 🤷‍♂️

NH is a creature of habit. Expect the same starting lineup with Langstaff running his legs off and Honeyman performing the high press but offering no threat!

He is and he is also stubborn, but in the SLP today Harris says Ivanovic is in contention to start, so maybe that's something he is considering. Like you, I would prefer more of an attacking threat than Honeyman as the 10 as well. I can't see him playing a front two of Ivanovic and Langstaff.

There is a way he could play Langstaff and Ivanovic and Esse as the 10 but it would mean a back three and wing-backs.

Leave Esse on the wing, at least when he does lose the ball it’s less dangerous.
They ruined Wallace turning him into a number 10
And whatever happened to 4-4-2 🤷‍♂️
The magazine isn’t called FiveThreeTwo is it?
I might buy NH a copy :grinning:

Does that mean notts county created 1000 chances for the 100+ goals he scored in under 3 seasons
who knows but he won't be scoring 100 goals for us that's for sure
we took a bunt on a lower league striker and so far its not paid off
I hope he starts getting on the score sheet but I just don't see it at the moment
he is missing sitters

He’s better than that and they weren’t sitters, one hit the post & the other was saved, both from tight angles. He runs his heart out and is definitely a Millwall type of player. Where I do agree however, is that playing him up front on his own won’t work out in the long run

Exactly, how many goals has he made (assisted) 5 ? Langstaff is a team player not a greedy striker as so many are, he does not run around like a headless chicken and makes runs which are often to either pull the oppo out of position or make space for himself.
Very intelligent player who is better than we have had up front for a while.

At this point I wouldn’t say he’s better than Bradshaw was when he was fit & playing well (another hard worker who mostly played up front on his own)
Only time will tell us of course

12 games one goal two assists
i never once said he's a headless chicken
his work rate is top draw their is a lot to like but he's a striker its in the name

He has been in the starting eleven for 5 games and substituted in two of those games, has played a total of 476 minutes for Millwall yet still has 1 goal and two assists in his first five games in the Championship which is probably the hardest league in Europe.
Lets see how he gets on over a season before slagging him off, thats if he gets much game time now the Serb is fit.
