A decent first half performance but it ended all square.

We started really well and pressed right from the very start. We had a corner in the first minute but Tango’s header was just off target. We continued to press. After ten a good ball up to Langstaff in the box who turned and cut inside but their defender just got a toe to it and it fell to Watmore on the charge but his shot was saved. They were looking really pedestrian and the crowd became a little unsettled to them. It didn’t bother us and we continued to press. A lovely interception from Sav on 17 fell to Watmore but his shot was saved. A few minutes later a lovely pass inside from Watmore to Esse but his near post shot was saved. A few minutes later Sav’s shot was blocked for a corner but Cooper’ fouled their bloke in the box. Then a good movement between Watmore and Langstaff but his shot was wide. Then a ball inside to Langstaff caught him just offside.
Then we made our breakthrough. A lovely ball inside to Langstaff gave him the chance to cross. Honeyman jumped over it and Watmore shot into the far corner for 1-0. It was no more than we deserved. Sadly our lead only lasted six minutes. We were three on three at the back and their Frey just got a yard on Cooper and hit it across Jensen for 1-1. In injury time Watmore intercepted and passed to Honeyman and his shot was wide. We were the better team by far in the first half but it ended all square.

We took a few minutes to get going second half but a great cross field ball from Cooper put Joe clear but his shot was wide. They were coming more into it with longer spells of possession but there was little threat. From a corner Watmore broke clear, ran the length of the pitch which sadly came to nothing. A foul on Esse drew a free kick but Joe’s shot was just over. It was time for fresh legs and a cream crackered Watmore and Langstaff were replaced by Azeez and the Serb. Then came to best chance of the game for us. Some good play in the corner from Azeez set Esse free and his low cross just needed a touch from Honeyman but his little legs did not stretch that far. He was crestfallen. We had some good pressing at the death but could not force a winner. Wintle came on for Honeyman but the added five was played out without drama.
Jensen was solid and looked assured. He stood no chance with their goal. Leonard was his normal forceful self, Tango and Cooper looked assured and Joe was good but got caught out for the quick break which led to their goal. Sav and Casper were busy, Watmore took his goal well but MOM was Esse with some great control and movement. Honeyman was busy but missed a golden chance for us to grab all three
points. Langstaff looked good and that elusive first goal is not far away. Azeez was busy, the Serb looked full of running and aggression and Wintle hardly broke sweat.
A decent point on the road for us which we would have taken at kick off. Some promising play first half but less so in the second half.

A good summary but why apportioning some of the blame for their goal to Bryan?

He’s clearly been told to get forward and the larger portion of our promising moves in the first half originated down the left.

If the team know he’s been instructed to bomb forward they must ensure there is adequate cover when a move breaks down 🤷‍♂️

A full back bombing forward is only effective if the final ball is decent, when its not the consequences are not worth a player and players out of position conceding goals.
Bryan has proved many times that he is a full back not a wing back.

He was nowhere near where he should have been or nobody covering him and it's not the first time this season , it's great going forward but not at the expense of leaving a massive gap in the defence and the biggest letdown today apart from not winning was the quality of our crossing & free kicks absolutely dire at times but we did at times look good onwards to PNE

Sorry to Nit Pick, but Jensen's kicking is school boy standard (still!). And inviting their C/F to stand in front of him, his kicking from hand is hopeless. WHY?
And at the risk of bringing the heavens down, have we scored from a free kick since Jed left?

Just watched the exTended highlights on YouTube which confirms an excellent performance. Honeyman did make the slightest of contacts in his golden chance but sadly not enough to send the ball into the back of the net. Azeez’s chance was good too with the keeper being very fortunate to block his shot. Upwards and onwards to PNE.

Scroll down to our game which shows the QPR player should have received a yellow for unsporting behaviour re Watmore’s goal.

I spotted that when I first watched the highlights and thought we might have been better off if he had stopped the ball and been sent off.

If that had happened we would have played the rest of the game against 10 men and, if we had scored from the penalty, be one up👍

We don't do very well at breaking down ten men.
