Just Back v PNE

with our 3 goals, I held my breath hoping there was no offside flag.. did anyone at the game have a good side-on view?
Anyway, we throughly deserved the win
I was expecting a flag for the third. I came to the conclusion that it was fine because many a time the flag goes up with joy. Even when it shouldn’t have.

I’ve posted elsewhere:

Goal 1: Honeyman was offside when the free kick was taken but not interfering with play; Cooper headed it back to onside Langstaff who made his way to the byline and laid it back for the now onside Honeyman to slot home. Legit goal.

Goal 2: I was level with Esse. Thought he was marginally offside but not certain.

Goal 3: Only seen highlights, looked like Langstaff timed his run well 👍

Bit unfair. Campbell was shit, although I haven't seen much of Wintle but if either Sav or De Norre get injured, he will play.

To Wintle's credit, he was the first one on the scene defending Emakhu and pushing their players away after Emakhu was cruelly hacked down (!!!!!) and reacted by shoving their player who, quite frankly, went down like a sack of cold shit. Embarrassing by him but stupid by Emakhu, who is obviously frustrated at not playing much and carried that on the pitch with him.
He’ll be playing even less now. Sadly he went down too easily a couple of times before that incident which may have prejudiced the ref who was a Cnut anyway!

It is worth noting that our opening goal came about after a well worked free kick after a lot of criticism last week on here about set piece deliveries. A good ball into the edge of the area from Bryan and a nicely guided header from Cooper to play Langstaff in to set up the goal.

It also might be time to give some credit to Livermore and Barrett seeing as they seem to be many people’s first targets when things aren’t going so well.

Somebody must have read my post asking for some variations on free kicks! One free kick in the first half saw everybody lining up in the box and the free kick was hit down the line to Esse who crossed it. I am sure it caught out Preston.

I have mentioned before on another thread that Honeyman is a play maker who will come good once he has some willing runners up from. He is now doing the thing we bought him for in the first place. Long may that continue.

On the down side my 4-0 (home joker) prediction was looking good with 10 minutes to go. That went down the pan in a flash. Typical Wall. :slap:
