Cheers Silver for just back Silver and Poplar for updatesstream kept cutting in and out and missed both goals
I’d agree. Quality player but has a tendency to ‘why beat 2 players when I can beat 5’. When it comes off spectacular but only happens 10% of the time. Defo in starting line up when fit for me, but worry about over the long term how the above plays out with his teammates, especially those who’s job is to get on the scoresheet.Esse largely poor yesterday, he doesn’t need to beat everyone. He just needs to go back to basics a little.
i do agree with bryan but on the plus side his dead ball taking was spot on yesterdayThis is a fair point to pull me up on and I plead guilty.
Leonard wasn't good yesterday, you are right, but he has plenty of credit in the bank and is allowed a bad game now and then. Same with De Norre who has been fantastic all season for the most part. Esse is 19 years old and will make mistakes and I will give him a free pass because of that. He has also won us games this season with a moment of magic. Bryan is a 30 year old left-back and in my opinion, cannot defend. Maybe I do judge him differently but I also absolutely want him to do well because he plays for Millwall. If it comes across that I am deliberately digging him out then that is something I will try not to do, because I don't like people doing that and that makes me a massive hypocrite.
Personally just think Danny mc is a better defender and not sure what he as to do to stay in the team as he as played brilliant every time he’s stepped in
His defending and tracking back has come on bundles since he has been a regular starter, like boxing you need to defend as well as attack to be proficient and i would guess that is the side of the game that is keeping Emakhu out of the reckoning and he is another talent with scary pace.Oh what terrible dilemma to have to deal with , I know at some point he'll cost us a goal or a win but it's a small price for the entertainment value alone. The boys gifted let him be, biggest fear is someone crippling him.
Amazing how much pace we've now got in the team, second half yesterday was ripping them apart, the days of tom huffing and puffing alone up front and a yard off the pace are a distant memory. Watmore can motor, the Serbs got some speed as well. His defending and tracking back has come on bundles since he has been a regular starter, like boxing you need to defend as well as attack to be proficient and i would guess that is the side of the game that is keeping Emakhu out of the reckoning and he is another talent with scary pace.
Esse gets caught in possession at least 3 times in areas, when he should have played a simple pass, leading to them threatening our goal and gets off Scot free on this Forum while Bryan was up against their best player and gets slaughtered again
De Norre (who I think is the best player in our squad) played an absolutely appalling pass early in the game that almost lead to a goal and Lenny had a poor opening 15 minutes but no mention of.
I’m not convinced Bryan is judged against the same yardstick as the rest of the squad
I gather you’re not one of Bryan’s fans
YepWasn't he the same ref we had at Swansea where we scored another late goal.
Most of the 90's we had players whose pace was deceptive, they were far slower than they looked.Emakhu,s pace is deceptive, for our goal he left three Sunderland players behind and they are no slouches, once he got near their box he knew they could not make a lunge in fear of giving away a pen and played a clever ball which Azeez finished. A lot of players would have taken a shot from where he was which shows how much he is already maturing.
