A convincing performance and a very comfortable victory.

We started brightly and both Danny and Molly were able to stay high and attack down the flanks. They definitely lacked urgency and press on the ball and it didn't take long for us to go in front. A good challenge by Billy fell to Woods who looked to have controlled it a little with his left arm. He passed it to Molly who hit a great diagonal to Jed on the right. He cut in and hit it across the keeper for 1-0. We were confident and pressed forward with purpose. A good pass to Danny from Bennett saw a cross into the box but it was just in front of Bradshaw. We were strolling and looked in control but they had other ideas. Their Lansbury put the ball between Cooper and Evans, Their forward ran into the space and hit a decent shot past Bart for 1-1. We had the wind taken out of our sails and it took a few minutes for us to find our rhythm again. Danny was involved in the second goal A good ball found him wide right and his cross skimmed off the head of their defender to Molly who smashed it across goal and in off the far post for 2-1. We looked comfortable and full of running and they looked ponderous and a bit off the pace. A great ball by Jed inside the left back found Danny and his deflected shot went off for a corner. A few minutes later a similar ball inside to Danny saw a shot that went for a corner. They were begging for the whistle but we looked comfortable with the score at 2-1 at the break.

They needed changes and made two at the break but we just needed more of the same. And it didn't take long for us to get a third. A corner from Jed bobbled about in the box with two or three efforts blocked before it came to Billy twelve yards out and he buried it for 3-1. We were rampant and a few minutes later a corner was nodded on at the near post by Romeo to Cooper who shot over. Then a mistake by their captain and central defender let in Bradshaw who hammered it in unopposed for 4-1. We had the bit between our teeth and pressed forward with some good play between Bennett and Molly and the latter shot over. It was time for fresh legs. Jed and Billy made way for Mahoney and Williams making his possible swan song home appearance. Danny was still full of running and a good run and cross found Bradshaw who headed at the keeper. That was Tom's last action as Bod replaced him. A great cross field pass from Williams found Danny who took it past two players but the ball got away from him. There were more fresh legs as Muller and Ben came on for Danny and Woods. Mahlon moved to RWB and Muller was part of the back three. Romeo played a 1/2 with Bod but shot at the keeper. Evans finished with a flourish and hit a pass to Bennett on the edge of the box. He chested it down but shot over. The added 4 minutes were played out without any drama.

Bart could do little to stop the shot that beat him but had very little to do for the rest of the game. Danny was full of energy and enterprise down the right and won MOM by a good distance. Romeo, Cooper and Evans were solid but they had little threat to face from a toothless attack. Molly played well and took his goal well. Woods was busy and Billy was full of running and took his goal well. Jed was everywhere bu faded late on. Bennett actually managed 90 minutes and was a constant threat. Bradshaw was also full of running and took his goal well. Williams looked assured, Mahoney looked comfortable, Bod was busy and Muller looked very much at home. Ben hardly broke sweat.

A very comfortable win against a poor side who looked ready to be on the beach in ten days time. They offered little threat and can't wait to get their flip flops on. On another day we would have struggled and many of us have seen games like this when we have got turned over by a poor team. This was not one of those days and we had our foot on the pedal for all 90 minutes. It was a decent game to watch too!

Good win against a poor side but again empty words by GR about the youngsters playing........

Bart could do little to stop the shot that beat him but had very little to do for the rest of the game.
Thanks, Silver.

Have to disagree profoundly with you over Bart. That was absolutely dire keeping: that was the stuff of a 7-year-old in the school playground.

If you come out, you get it. Very, very, poor and made it so easy for the kid to score.

Well spotted regarding Bennett completing the game. I was going ti start a thread on that. People keep saying he's injury prone etc. This season he has run through walls for us and rarely been an injury concern.

Bod and Williams? Why?

We are 4-1 up. What are we going to learn from those two? Especially Bod who is one if the all-time Millwall duds.

Great chance to really bolster Bradshaw's confidence and he's hooked off. Don't even begin to understand the psychology of that.

Cheers Silver. A good performance against a poor side, but you can only beat what's in front of you.
Bart had no chance with their goal, we switched off for that.
But we didn't let it affect us and came back at them.
I'm not one for stats on possession but we for once had more per cent of the ball than the opposition.
Look forward to your last "Just Back" of the season next week from Coventry, or should I say Brum.
COYL!

Just watched the highlights and it just confirmed that the opposition were just not at the races for ninety minutes. I also concur with Whisky what a pig’s ear Bart made of their goal. Indecision on the edge of the box and a thoughtless challenge was part of a comedy of errors which led to their goal. The defence was ball watching as Lansbury played the pass between them for Conway to score. He should have scored a second a few minutes later but hit his far post shot wide. There was almost no pressing on the ball from them and we just forced home our advantage by scoring four goals. On that performance Bradshaw did show what he can do but often he can be outmuscled by a more resilient defence and end up firing on blanks. We have some decent players and I am sure that GR is looking to make us into a decent side for next season. By contrast I cannot see what Bristol City persuaded them to give Pearson a three year contract to be their manager. A one year rolling contract might have been more appropriate. He will have a big job on his hands next season because on yesterday’s display they would be odds on for the drop. I couldn’t imagine any of their players getting into our side. What a difference between their last visit to the Den in the FA Cup when they hammered us 3-0!
