Jensen six months to improve

If he had stayed on his line on Saturday, he'd have saved that shot from Frey.
I know it's difficult in the heat of the moment, but that's a fact.

That's interesting, BP. The quotes below are from the interview:

"I always liked to be a very aggressive goalkeeper, flying out in the opposition’s face and making blocks left and right."

“He said (Andy Marshall): ‘Take a step back so you can react a little bit more to it.’

“If I stay back a bit more, I can improve saving reaction shots. It’s not just one thing I can pick out because there have been so many small things.

You see, I don't just talk bollox ALL the time. :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Seriously though, my view of the goal was that Tanganga was going to deal with their striker. He was either going to succeed, or not, as in this case.
By diving in as well as Tanganga, Jensen removed a back up option if Tanganga could not stop a shot coming in.
Because he did that, we had nobody on the line to stop what was not a hard shot.

If Frey had been running through on his own, yes, of course, go out to meet him. But, in this case I think discretion was much the better option.

Watched the highlights again and not sure about that BP🤔

If he had stayed Frey would have advanced forward and shot from closer distance.

Damned if he did and didn’t 🤷‍♂️

That also makes sense regarding getting caught underneath the ball (Watford & QPR).
Watford one from the corner went in. QPR one was cleared but again went over his head because he rushed forward where we already had players covering. Once the ball has gone over his head he has no chance of ever saving it. If he stays on his line, he still has the chance to make a save, if the defender doesn't clear it.
Jury still out for me, although he has made some good saves too.
I did think Roberts looked quite good in the friendlies he played in, so Jensen does have something to think about.

Maybe, but there were two (possibly three) other players at fault before he picked it out of the net. Including the new messiah Tanganga 🤷‍♂️

I don't think he could have advanced, as Tangaga had arrived to intercept him, albeit too late to stop him shooting.
But hey, we'll never know.
In any event I think he should have stayed big, i'e. on his feet.

I think that’s what Marshall is coaching him on having read the article. When to go forward and when to stay back.

You should pal up with Marshall BP or maybe replace him. 😉👍

Cooper could have flattened the runner, Tango could have intercepted Frey, Honeyman could have slid in to Esse’s cross. All small margins and the jury is out on Jenson, he has made some good saves but things to work on. Honeyman was giving him dogs for that corner.

All the above is true but Honeyman missed the easiest chance all day

Just to be clear, I’m not blaming him for the goal, just suggesting he may have been better staying at home for the shot.
