The youth that Chelsea can afford is on a different level than us.
Alex Ferguson bought the best youth from all over the Country and built a team but he had senior professionals that allowed the youth to come through gradually, he did not buy youth players that were nowhere near ready for the level of football intended.

Spending a club record on a striker that's never played at this level and will not be ready for some time while the first team is struggling to score goals is lunacy.

I believe he has limitations as a coach and tactician and doesn’t possess the ability to coach at the top end of the championship. But “hard”? Behave yourself. I seem to recall that John Berylson was very close to folding our academy as it was a loss maker for the club.
Develop players for years,look half decent,do not sign a proffessional contract so fee paid by premiershit clubs Liverpool,Chelsea etc now Brentford are quite happy to go to FA tribunal,FA being the operative word here because that is what we get for players nurtured through our youth system and end up getting £250 K if we're lucky.

Chelsea have bought young players in from around the world for eye watering sums, not developed their own.

So he was in that position when they were promoted in 2018/9 and then soon after that the Belgian sold the club and they never had the same money to spend again.

Personally think this situation has done more harm than good. I don't like it and think it will end badly for the 'Wall. With Gallens track record why did JB appoint him, he has done nothing of note and is all of a sudden running the show because if you look at his interview he is in charge of everything.

I doubt the owners asked Gallen to take this route as its a football matter and a very risky route to change the whole football structure of the club in such a short space of time.

JB is a business man surrounded by business people who would of taken advice to make such a dramatic change on the football side but where did that advice come from ?? Gallen seems to have his hands in every aspect of the football club for someone with no history of success. How ??

All Gallen has done so far is sign kids that are not ready for the first team.

Our fans have always wanted “one of our own” players and managers to succeed but, unfortunately, I think that clouds their judgment.

I agree.... I was gutted how the Harris ending happened and will always be a legend to me. But time moves on and getting behind the current incumbents is now my focus! COYL 3 points today!
