Funny fuckers! He was at Turnberry a couple of years back and wanted to buy a club in his "spiritual home" of Scotland. He wanted a meet at Ibrox. Halfway might know more. Aberdeen bods say he was looking at them so who knows.

It boils down to two options do you want results on the pitch or a healthy balance sheet you can’t get both in one go under the new direction, do we put the best 11 on the pitch h to get a result and 3 points or do we put 11 on the pitch to showcase any talent. The Serb is a mile off starting 11 simple fact
Will it be a healthy bank balance in league 1 though, it doesn't take long to drop down the division. The same way Harris took us up to mid table in those fantastic six games last season the polar opposite could happen here.

I was curious to see the value of the clubs we are trying to emulate, Bournemouth valued at 145 million, Brentford 400 million, now they aren't bigger than us just had a couple of seasons in the premier and Brighton around 700 mill , from the same source we're valued at 35 million. Now I'm definitely not a business man or a financial guru but they haven't made that valuation on the strength of selling a few players for big profits. I'm most likely wrong but I think trying to balance the books in this league might be the wrong decision if its detrimental to the first team.

Not very long ago Brighton didn’t have a pot to piss in and were ground sharing with Gillingham.
So, fortunes can be turned around.

Nothing has been said about balancing the books, it seems that currently the owners pay for our losses which are pushing the FFP limits and to give us more to spend on signings and wages we need to sell players like Esse.

My guess with Ivanovic is his football grounding in Serbia has been to receive the ball to feet/chest, control and use as opposed to challenging for it in the air, often without close support.

If the next manager plays a different style of play to NH then possibly he won’t be a mile off the starting 11 🤔

Players like Esse come along once in a blue moon, do we spend all our funds on kids hoping they will turn out to be a diamond in the rough if so that has got to be the worst business strategy heard of.

There are plenty of of clubs who were once thought of as "big clubs" languishing in the lower leagues because they got it wrong, far more than the tiny number that got lucky.

Those 'big clubs' got it wrong because they spunked their money on 'big name' journeymen looking for one last big payday. Look at the absolute shite we signed under Holloway.

Everyone was laughing at Chelsea not so long ago for signing loads of youth players for thier 1st team, theyre now pushing for the title.

Investing in youth is the best long term strategy.

The youth that Chelsea can afford is on a different level than us.
Alex Ferguson bought the best youth from all over the Country and built a team but he had senior professionals that allowed the youth to come through gradually, he did not buy youth players that were nowhere near ready for the level of football intended.

Spending a club record on a striker that's never played at this level and will not be ready for some time while the first team is struggling to score goals is lunacy.

If Ivanovic is a mile off the starting 11 (a statement I totally disagree with) why the fuck did Harris insist on starting strikers such as Langstaff and particularly Bradshaw who are so far inferior to Ivanovic its ridiculous. Coburn is the only striker in front of him selection wise. The only reason Harris wouldn’t play him is because of the sulk over him “not being my player” Harris ‘s own words

We have senior professionals in our team, but everyone had a go at Harris for playing Bradshaw.

In recent times our best strikers have been plucked from the lower divisions and took time to adjust, Harris, Morison, Gregory.

Wasnt our club record signing for ages a 30 year old Paul Goddard who only scored 1 Goal in 20 Matches. His Transfer fee today would be the eqivalent of 2mil.

Unfortunatly football is becomming more of a business, the best way to get ahead in business and play with the big boys to invest in potential.

Presuming you have actually watched some games, you will have noticed that Ivanovic mostly has hardly touched the ball. How the hell you put him in front of either Langstaff or Bradshaw is a mystery. Maybe it's just your hate for Harris clouding your conversation. What will you say when the new bloke comes in and does the same?

Think Coburn was exactly what Harris was looking for a great young player who terrorises defenders both in the air and on the floor at this level, unfortunately he is injury prone which is another risk when buying young players.
