Gallen

Received a lot of adverse press in the last 24 hours but:

Is he a villain or merely someone working to his Terms of Reference and satisfying his Job Description?

Most of us have no idea what has happened behind the scenes with Harris’ departure, so don’t understand why Gallen is being portrayed as the villain by many.

The recruitment recently has been good so don’t know what he has done wrong.

If Gallen thinks a new manager is going to come in and win games, playing attractive football with what we have, he is delusional or on drugs.

Harris looked very relaxed on the sideline tonight, pleased to see that.
He’s best out of it. I doubt we’ll be making any signings in the transfer window unless we sell Tango and/or Esse as Gallen has already spunked £3m on players who ‘might’ become good in 2-5 years.

Personally think this situation has done more harm than good. I don't like it and think it will end badly for the 'Wall. It would be a shame if the Club drifted back to the bad old days of the 70's with 4000 loyal supporters turning up. Politics are for Parliament not for sport. Maybe I'm being naive but I cannot see a.good resolution.

Neil Harris as Director of Football would be my resolution. Probably a couple of years away though. Rather have proper Millwall people in that role who know what works in the dressing room and within the fanbase.

From a group of fans who like to quote the whole "convenient peg" comment ad nauseam, personally I think Gallen is being used as a "convenient" peg to blame for Harris throwing his toys out of the pram because he cant control everything.

Have a look at Harris’ achievements as a manager then look at Gallens rather unimpressive CV and you might understand why some of us are concerned how this might play out.

No one in any walk of life likes the goalposts being moved halfway through a job, whatever trade you're in.(Only going by what I've read on here) It breeds contempt. Club should have left Harris to run his contract down out of curtasy for digging them out of the hole last season. He left a job to come here. Would he have come back under the new situation probably not. He only had 8 months left so seems silly to upset the apple cart.Say what you like but he brought a feel good factor to the club and the players seemed to feed off of it.

To be fair to the club, E18, because we don't know what has gone on - we don't really know what the terms & conditions for him leaving are. He may well have been financially compensated or, paid off even. Maybe one day it will come out.
