Has it changed in recent years?

Haven’t refereed for circa 20 years so not up to date with recent changes but has the throw in rule of having to have both feet on the ground altered? Because if it hasn’t it’s being overlooked or not be picked up 🤷‍♂️

Watching Brentford v Spurs and several have not been penalised :shake:

If VAR ever gets used for every law in the game, it will take a whole day to play a 90 minute game.
Foul throws, fouls at every corner etc

All the above comments and criticisms are valid, but don't blame VAR, it's down to poorly directed Referees who have allowed the rules and standards of behaviour to slide. If they don't want to apply the basic Laws of The Game, then why do we need them, Why are they there? (The Money?) They are very content to sweep all the transgressions under the V.A.R. carpet and avoid genuine criticism of their decisions. Can anybody say that Standards are improving?

It's not the end of the world although I do detest those players (both sides) that decide to take a 10 yard wander up the line which is nowhere near where the ball went out of play.
Maybe the ref or lino can use their little can of spray to indicate where the throw should be taken.

Nothing compared to the headlocks and full on wrestling that goes on at corners.. then a little shirt tug he gives a pen?!?!? How's that work?

No need for dramatics. How about some simple rules explained to both teams at pre-match briefing.
1. Referee to stand in line with point on touch line where ball is deemed to have left play area. Ball must be released before this specific point.
how about a time limit just to keep everyone honest.
2. At corners and free kicks, Referee to position themselves at a point similar to the square leg umpires in cricket, facing towards action to ensure that laws are not contravened.
3. Disciplinary system.
A. Pre match briefing separately to both teams.
B. First transgression. Award of free kick/penalty, according to location
C. Second transgression. Award of yellow card and free kick or penalty.
D. Third transgression. Red Card and free kick etc.
4. Natural position of arms, both attackers and defenders. Whether running, jumping or heading, same rules as for judging hand ball incidents. Had any one seen usain Bolt run with his arms across his opponents chest? Or around their necks?

Other suggestions welcome!
