Fixture changes

Nice way to treat your hard core base that’s been there forever.
Not sure the club can do anything about that other than not except the EFL contract that clubs have to sign and adhere to on entering the league. Dropping down a division would change kick off times back to mainly 3pm's but we'd lose circa 4k off the gates plus there's no money in that division. Dancing with the devil!

The only thing I would say to that is that Millwall did not decide alone to take the Sky money. The whole league decided.
I’m not saying there was no greed involved, but once you are in a club or in this case league, you have to go with the majority.
You're right, I'm moaning about the state of football more than our club.
Once the russian to$$er at chelsea started paying silly money all those years ago, it meant the knock on effect would ruin football for years.
We have just been given 4m, that works out at roughly £10 for every fan that went through the turnstiles last season yet our tickets prices have gone up just so the club can keep paying wages we can't really afford to.

Some of my best memories/ favourite games tend to be night games. Old den under the lights and a big crowd was something else. That cup run in 85 still clear in my memories.
Exactly, it's just a different atmosphere.
85' is a bit early in my toddler years, but some of my earliest Millwall memories were under lights at the old den after school with my mates.
Away games too, loved it.

It's why I miss being a season ticket holder.

As I said before Sky are on!y interested in their armchair supporters the real travelling fans are just tolerated and treated like shite , sky will ruin football for the real fans im afraid , the only seats sky want to fill are in the living rooms , ,sky will actually make crowds smaller & smaller over the years to come..............you cannot replace being at a game for the whole atmosphere etc by watching from an ar mchair.

My favourite night game, the 85 run included. Has to be when we beat Huddersfield on that Friday night play off. I could sense , walking into the ground the atmosphere……. I don’t think it can be described, it had to be felt.
It was as though every crazy Millwall fan from the last hundred years was there.

That was something else mate. At our evil best :grinning:

See how pumped Robbo was before kick off :bow:

You're right but unfortunately it's the TV deals that bring the money in for clubs.

Never tire of watching this, the first four players out of the tunnel :

Robbo ........... captain and really charged---Millwall
Morrison........... bandaged but try and tell him he isn't playing :) - Millwall
Craig .......... Nutter - Millwall
Harris ............ Mr Millwall - Millwall

Not a bad 33% of a team :):):)

Agree it was quite a night - definitely not a Friday though. Tuesday or Wednesday

The Leicester game after we beat Chelsea away was something else. Huge crowd and proper moody atmosphere. The whole season and cup run is still up there with my most memorable and enjoyable times following us. I was 14 at the time.

Enfield in the early rounds ( 2nd) was the first game that i went to with just my mates and without my old man. Nigels in the next round which we drew with a late equaliser from Dean Neal- again after he got the solitary goal against Enfield the previous round.

The replay at the Nigels ( my first away without my old man) was postponed a few times cause we had heavy snow for most of the January. Nearly 3 week between the fixtures and no league games played either. Won that replay 2-1 with ex Nigel- Lovell getting the winner. There was Wall all around Selhurst park that night. When we scored over half the ground was celebrating in the home bits :grinning:

Then Chelsea away. A top division one side against us from the third division and we win again :wahey::wahey::wahey:and plenty of :punch::punch::punch:

The whole route from Vauxhall along the embankment to Lotts road in Chelsea was Millwall. In motors, vans, scaffolding lorries ( what we was in with my mates dad and loon mates).

That period of the season from the Palace game up to finally losing at Luton was part of a great run. Fourteen games and one defeat. That defeat was away at Orient who had the better of us that season. We played them four times and lost three of those games. Twice in the freight rover trophy and once in the league at Brisbane road from a Cussack own goal.

But it all ended well, promotion and not one defeat at home in the league all season. Three year later,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,who'd have thought it!! The rest as they say mate is history.

The play off games were on a Saturday at there's and the return leg at the Den was a Tuesday.

The league game up at there's a month earlier was on a Friday around Easter time.

As much as it is a pain with changing of dates and times of kick offs at least we have proper notice of changes up until the new year.
This is spot on. We are never going back to guarunteed Saturday afternoon games so the best we can hope for is plenty of prior notification of changes which we seem to have here.
Nothing worse than booking travel then the game gets switched at short notice. At least we have clarity for the next few months which I welcome - until OB get involved!

Have I missed something? Why are all the championship clubs kicking off at 12:30?

It's not every weekend. Five of our first ten games are 3pms-Four are 12.30 KO's and one evening game which is away at Cardiff.

I think he meant for the first week mate. If I'm right, I think its because Sky are showing all games live and cant do that at 3 because the lower league clubs like Charlton are kicking off at 3

there is only 1 positive for fans with all the changes, they've given us 3-4 months notice and shouldnt be changing again - can book trains already for November away matches
