It was the only game my son (then not quite 2), myself and my father - three generations - all attended together. My dad died from cancer a few months later.

So that ball is truly priceless in more ways than one.

Didn't manage to get my hands on the match ball, but I did manage to pick up Gordon Cowans discarded tie-ups as I was dragged out of the Holte End by the WM Plod.

Got them suspended formaldehyde on the mantelpiece.
