Isn't it strange how someone can spend so much of their life supporting a club yet can't wait to find fault with them, without an ounce of proof they want to assume the club are yet again going to do something wrong sometime in the future. Some fans are quick to criticise the club but they are ignorant as to how contract negotiations actually work. Esse, or more to the point his agent, would have insisted on a release clause being part of the deal to get him to sign an extension to his contract.
What that actual figure is we don’t know but the club really have no choice but to get the best they can and go along with it. It is another example of just how much power rests with players and their agents these days.
Esse will leave the club, we will make a profit on him, how much isn't just down to us.
