Another ex-Lion, Dickie Plume has passed away. I can recall seeing him and Ronnie Howell making their debuts against Bury on Good Friday 1967. R.I.P. Dickie

not too long ago I searched for info about him. Think he fell into Hard Times.
I always thought of him as our first coloured player post-war, before Phil Walker and Trevor Lee, but his photo made him out to be more dusky. Memory playing tricks etc. Either way,not a bad player for us.

I don't think so. I remember Dickie (vaguely) operating in mid field, whereas Frankie Peterson was a forward, taller and darker skinned. Didn't he move on to Chelmsford after us? All a long time ago unfortuneately.

During my time watching Millwall I predicted 4 players would go on to play for England ie Sheringham, Weller, Gordon Hill and Plume that’s how highly I rated Dickie!

I really thought he had the potential to be very good but unfortunately it didn’t happen
