Coventry V Wall Match thread Tuesday 7.45pm

Perhaps a game where the performance is as important as a point.
We can't expect to get anything from the game but play well and who knows but a Birmingham/Portsmouth/ Blackburn performance would probably lead to a heavy defeat and leave a doubt in the back of the mind for the rest of the season as we now need consistency.

Fancy us to take all three points from this one.
I hope you’re right mate , it will definitely put us in real contention for a play off place at worst . Downside is we still have to play a few teams around us away . Hopefully, can get all our injured bodies back and remain injury free ish and suspension free for the rest of the season. Still a couple of weeks left for the transfer window too . Hopefully bring in some reinforcements.

If we can get the same threat on the left side of the pitch as we have on the right with Azeez and Crama, i think we will be extremely difficult to beat in this league.

The pairing of De Norre and Mitchell is coming along nicely and the defence is solid, our only weakness is the left side of the pitch, get that right and we have a team that will make top six or better at the end of the season.

I think Ballo will get better if he bulks up a bit, he has the skill.

I know this is Watford and blurry. 3 Players left on the ground'

There was a degree of skill and luck in that goal. How the ball managed to get through three pairs of legs is still beyond me. It left the keeper unsighted as well. He probably would’ve saved it if there wasn’t such a melee of his own players in front of him

Glad to see coburn back. When we are being pressed he is a great outlet. He is so good at winning hoof balls and strong once he has it. Stops their wing back getting forward down the left. That through ball and goal was an absolute dream of a move.
You know when the through ball is top quality when the striker buries it without taking a touch first to control the ball.
That was true yesterday and for Langstaff against Norwich.

Sturge/Bryan at left back and play Doughty left mid would solve that?

True, but...recently we have done the double over two teams who were around us at start of play (Bristol City and Watford). That has resulted in daylight between us and both of them. Keep that form up and it should set us up nicely for the play-offs. Unless of course, we have eyes on automatic promotion. If that's the case, we would need results up at 'Boro, Ipswich, and on Tuesday at Coventry. A tough ask...

Who knows, but this second half of the season could get interesting (if it isn't already).

:grinning:

I watched their highlights last night.they were poor defending down the wings i thought.must stop their offensive power first though

There form isn't great. I expect us to get something from the game
I think we would have learnt a lot from that 4 nil drubbing earlier in the season and we will have a much stronger team out this time. I looked at the team from October. No Femi, no doughty, no Coburn, no de Norre, no Taylor, Harding at right back.

Fuck it, we’re gonna beat them on Tuesday 👊

They are not as good as Burnley were last season, their defence is there for the taking and not that good, put them under pressure and they will fold, sit back and we get beat.
A lot will depend on whether the ref is fair or not, if he lets us play we beat them.
