Goalkeeper David Forde has said that Millwall showed huge character in our game against QPR and he believes we are now on the right track.

Speaking to the official site following the two all draw, Forde echoed the thoughts of the manager in saying that we thoroughly deserved a share of the spoils on the day, and he feels that more than any other result so far this campaign, this will be the one that sets Millwall up for the rest of the season and allows us to kick on properly.

As for the game itself, Forde says he felt we were unlucky in the first half – the penalty decision particularly – but ultimately it was our own sloppiness in defence that cost us again. Thankfully though we got back on track.

‘We showed huge character again at home when in the past, we’ve struggled but we’re starting to turn The Den into a real fortress again.’

One of the reasons for that for him are the fans, and he again credits the atmosphere the crowd make and the way that they get behind the team and try and drive them on.

It’s still a learning curve though with new manager Steve Lomas, and the ideas and way he wants us to play, but Fordey says the players are now adjusting to that, taking things on board and starting to do them naturally instead of trying to force it.

Using the word transition, he finishes by saying ‘we’re on the right tracks’.
