It’s being reported that Republic of Ireland goalkeeper David Forde will soon complete a season long loan move to Fratton Park and Portsmouth.

The now 36 year old has been with Millwall since 2008 having made the move from Cardiff, and he’s racked up 339 appearances since then.

Having fallen down the pecking order under manager Neil Harris and playing second fiddle to Jordan Archer last season, and with the fact he only has one year remaining on his deal now, it’s reported that the simplicity of a season long loan move will enable him to get more regular game time and impress for potentially one final contract before he hands up his gloves.

The report of the loan move is being carried widely by press in London and Portsmouth so it is only a matter of time – but it hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
