Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper David Forde has said that Millwall must ensure our lacklustre and heavy defeat to Middlesbrough in our last game must be the turning point of our season moving forward.
Following the heavy five one defeat on home soil, Forde told the official site that everyone in the camp had been bitterly disappointed following the game, but the players were determined to make up for it in our next match.
‘We were all bitterly disappointed after that game and maybe one or two harsh words were said because that wasn’t a Millwall performance in the first half. But I’ve experienced that sort of thing before, when we suffered heavy home defeats to Watford and Birmingham under Kenny. On those occasions we knuckled down and bounced back, and with the character in this squad I fully expect us to do the same again.’
With the next match against Brighton in front of the TV cameras, Forde goes on to say it’s the perfect opportunity to now put all memories of Middlesbrough behind us and put in a good, strong showing and show what the team are capable of in order to get the win and three points.
On a personal note, Forde adds that he’s yet to be on the winning side at their new stadium, The Amex, so now would be the perfect time to ‘rectify that.’
