Millwall are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Shane Ferguson in Millwall’s four one victory over Colchester at the weekend at The Den was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ferguson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Winger Ferguson produced a dazzling display as Millwall continued their good form in Sky Bet League 1, defeating Colchester United 4-1 at The Den. The on-loan Newcastle United man helped himself to two goals, as Neil Harris’ side extended their unbeaten run in the league to six games, to remain just outside the division’s Play-Off places.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Ferguson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

David Button (Brentford), Greg Leigh (Bradford), Adam Thompson (Southend), Kevin Long (Barnsley), Shane Ferguson (Millwall), Ryan Harley (Exeter), Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough), Fernando Forestieri (Sheffield Wednesday), Jacob Murphy (Coventry), Jay Simpson (Leyton Orient), Rhys Murphy (Crawley).

Manager – Stephen Pressley (Fleetwood).
