Skipper Alan Dunne has said that everybody within the Millwall camp are confident they can cause an upset when we face Watford this weekend.
Our weekend’s opponents are second to Derby County in the Championship by goal difference alone, and few would bet on us pulling out the victory given relative form, despite our Wolverhampton Wanderers comeback, especially as they are unbeaten in the last eight and remain unbeaten at Vicarage Road.
Speaking to the official site Dunne said he felt that Millwall had already shown we could cause problems to anybody, and it’s about us being at the top of game to ensure we are more than a match for them.
‘We’ve come a long way since the manager arrived here. Watford have been a bit of a bogey side for us over the years but now we go into these sorts of games confident in ourselves and believing that we can win.’
Dunne goes on to say it would be daft to dismiss the threats Watford carry, as they have a lot of good players, and even though it will be a different type of test to the ones we’ve had so far this campaign, he feels it’s a test that we can overcome.
‘It’s a game we’re excited about and looking forward to. We’re unbeaten in four and have shown, by going to Derby and keeping a clean sheet, plus stopping Nottingham Forest and Cardiff from scoring, that we can be difficult for the team at the top of the table to play against.’
