Skipper Alan Dunne has said that he believes the fans can take heart from another committed performance against Fulham that saw us pick up another clean sheet – our fourth clean sheet in six games, and that’s the kind of desire and determination he wants to see us take into the game against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek now and then hopefully get the goal up front ourselves.

Whilst Fulham was our 13th lock out of the campaign, we are still yet to win at The Den going back to October and for Dunne, he knows we have to capitalise on our defensive strength now by picking up all three points.

Speaking to the official site he explained.

‘We’ve got to keep picking up clean sheets and points. With 15 games to go, a team that is keeping clean sheets is a good sign. The teams around us aren’t really doing that so it was a positive that we picked up another clean sheet at the weekend. It’s a shame we couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net but any point in this league is a good point.’

Dunne goes on to say that he feels we are showing some good passages of play around the box and our link up play is improving, it’s just that final ball, pass or shot that isn’t quite on point for us at the minute, but the fact we are improving should see that come in time.

With that said, he knows we can’t just lay it at the door of the strikers, as everybody across the team should be chipping in with goals from set pieces, and it’s down to everyone to turn those half chances into meaning goals.

‘It is difficult, but we will keep going until something drops for someone.’
