Midfielder Shaun Derry has ended his loan spell at Millwall after accepting the post of manager at Notts County.

The 35 year old has been on loan at The Den from Queens Park Rangers since August but has now decided to make the move into management with the Nottingham club after they parted company with Chris Kiwomya a few weeks ago.

Since being with us Derry has made seven starts in the league, but he didn’t find the net during his time with us. He also made one start in the Capital One Cup win over Exeter.

He has now returned to the club where he began his playing career as a trainee, and will take up the role of player/manager – obviously he has also cancelled his parent contract at QPR with immediate effect.

Everybody at Millwall wishes him the very best for his new adventure and thanks him for his efforts both on and off the pitch during his spell with us.
