Manager Neil Harris has confirmed that he believes both Jimmy Abdou and Fred Onyedinma are very close to signing new deals.

With John Marquis, Sid Nelson and Aiden O’Brien all now contracted to new deals, he told the official site that he was confident Abdou and Onyedinma would soon sign up.

‘Jimmy and Fred are both very close. It is just a pain that at this time of year players and agents go away on holiday to spend time with their families. You can agree as much as you can but until the players actually sign on the dotted line you have to sit tight and be patient before anything can be announced. Hopefully, once they return from their holidays, we can tie them down to longer contracts so they can commit their futures as well.’

Another extension arranged by the gaffer has been to the pitch.

With manager Ian Holloway preferring a tighter pitch for his game plan, with pitch work underway, Harris has requested a six metre longer playing surface for the coming campaign.

The length in 2015-16 will therefore be 106 metres.
