Left back Joe Martin has said that he feels everybody in the Millwall camp will go into the double header against Bradford City in great confidence following the season we’ve had, but also the manner of victory over Gillingham.

Speaking to the official site with build up to the Valley Parade trip on Sunday well under way for the first leg, Martin said everybody was ‘confident and excited’ about the challenge ahead and a potential place at Wembley in hopes of a first return to the Championship.

‘We’re in great form at the minute and that can only help going into those two big games. They are a little bit like us in a way, though we are slightly different. It’s going to be a physical game, we know that, and they’re going to make it really difficult for us, but if we show what we have been showing since Christmas then I’m sure we’ll give them a good game. We’re looking good. We have got a good strikeforce and we’re a danger, so it looks positive. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never really experienced it as a starter and we’re all confident and excited.’

With Lee Gregory’s 98th minute penalty on the day securing all three points, Martin went on to say about Gillingham itself – of course his former club.

‘It was a hostile atmosphere and a tough game. I was expecting a bit of stick and I got that, but at the end of the day we just wanted the three points and to finish as high up as we possibly could. I left the club last year and they had done one on us at our place, and we’ve kind of returned the favour. I didn’t really look at it like I’m getting my own back.’
