That’ll teach me to read all the news before starting to write. Chairman John Berylson has given his own mini statement following the takeover speculation.

Had I noticed this before the last piece, I also could’ve used a nice image of Andy Ambler in the last one, instead of having two of Berylson in a row!

Following the speculation of a potential takeover from Gianni Paladini, our owner has taken to the official site to assure fans that he has no intention of going anywhere.

‘I have absolutely no interest in selling Millwall to Mr Paladini, who I have never even met nor have any intention of meeting, or anyone else. I am as committed to this club as ever, and having just brought in Ian Holloway as our new manager, I am very excited about the future.’

Berylson goes on to say that ‘Ollie’ will be with us for at least the next two and half years, and then hopefully beyond the time of his initial contract at the club, and he intends to be with the gaffer every step of the way and they al bid to push the club up the table and challenging for promotion in the years to come.

And that does obviously include allowing Holloway funds to strengthen as he sees fit this window to achieve our immediate aim of pulling away from the bottom of the table and into a more comfortable position to build on for next season.
