Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has become the fourth player to depart The Den for the final time following a mutual contract cancellation.

The 33 year old leaves us as a free agent and is therefore able to find another club more easily.

He moved to us back in the summer of 2013, and he was former manager Steve Lomas’ first signing, and in that time he has made a total of seven appearances for the club deputising for David Forde.

Earlier in the season he spent a successful time out on loan with Gillingham, where he made 13 appearances.

With the sale of Scott Malone to Cardiff, he becomes the fifth player in total to leave following Josh Wright, Paul Robinson and Jermaine Easter.
