Left Back Matthew Briggs has become manager Ian Holloway’s sixth signing of the summer.
The 23 year old has signed a one year contract with the club, and earnt the deal after a successful trial spell where he played a part in the pre season games against Dartford and Stevenage.
Having come through Fulham’s youth ranks, he made his debut for them back in May 2007 and the defender has since had loan spells with Leyton Orient, Peterborough, Bristol City and Watford.
He also leaves Fulham having made a total of 29 appearances for them.
Speaking to the official site after penning the deal, Briggs praised the ‘Ollie factor’ in his decision to turn down other offers and sign for us.
‘All I really wanted to do was to play under this manager, he showed belief in me and that’s why I had to come back. He knows what I can do. I know what I can do and I hope that he can bring the best out of me. We’re going to work together very closely and hopefully I can push on this season.’
