Earlier today, Millwall announced that Tony Craig’s testimonial game would see a pre season friendly arranged against former club Brentford.

The testimonial match at The Den will take place on Saturday July 30 and carry a 3pm kick off time.

Millwall’s captain came through our youth ranks and made his first team debut back in April 2003, and in four spells with us, the now 31 year old has racked up a total of 254 appearances and played a key role in the promotion to the Championship back in 2009/10 and this season’s Play Off entry – despite having a lengthy lay off with injury.

His time at Brentford saw him take in 127 games between 2012 and 2015 helping them into the Championship themselves along the way.

Speaking to the official site with the announcement of his testimonial opponents known, Craig said.

‘I’m very thankful to the club for giving me a testimonial. The chairman, Andy Ambler and the gaffer have passed it on to me which is fantastic, and for Brentford to come down is brilliant. Thinking about having a testimonial gives me goosebumps having been a supporter sitting in the Cold Blow Lane end as a youngster. I’ve enjoyed every single moment of my time here and to get a testimonial as a fan and a player who grew up at the club is a dream. It will be a special day for my family, who have been there through thick and thin with me. I can’t wait for it.’

A donation from the proceeds of the game will go to Headley Court, the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Surrey.

Ticket details for the match will be announced in due course once they are set and agreed.

The game will also be Millwall’s fourth and final first team pre season warm up game of the summer, the other three being announced – Click Here.
