Chairman John Berylson has said he was very encouraged by the performance of a relatively new look Millwall in our last game against Reading.
Having picked up a point in the encounter, battled hard when reduced to ten men and brought an end to our successive home defeats in recent times, the owner told the official site that it was definitely worth his lengthy travel plans to get in to watch the game because it was the first time he had seen all six of our January recruits in action in the flesh, and given what he saw he believes it bodes well for the second half of the campaign and our battle against relegation this season.
‘I thought the effort was fantastic, the teams showed a lot of spirit, a lot of grit. I was proud of them. It was an exciting game and I had a lot of confidence in what I saw. I really look forward to the next 19 games. What I saw against Reading was a fine start.’
Start is the key, with so many changes to the first team there will still have to be a bit of a transition period as the team gel, but the signs are there and now they have to be built on.
