Centre half Mark Beevers could be out for between six to eight weeks after helping Millwall to their first clean sheet of the season against Charlton.

In the 1-0 victory the defender sustained a sprained medial knee ligament injury and Steve Lomas has told the official site that it was a huge blow for both the player and the club given how he’d been performing so far this season.

‘It’s a blow for us and for Mark at a time when we appear to be turning a corner. Fortunately surgery doesn’t appear necessary but we are resigned to being without him for the next few weeks.’

Lomas obviously has the decision to make now of whether to introduce Karleigh Osborne for his first appearance of the season or to recall Danny Shittu.

Shane Lowry is also out of our next match against Leeds as he serves the final game of his three match ban.
