Manager Neil Harris has been speaking more about tonight’s trip to Spotland Stadium to face off against Rochdale and he revealed goalkeeper Jordan Archer was close to a return.

With the League One campaign drawing to a close, Harris explained to the official site that he felt a run of testing away games would be perfect for Millwall to rise to the occasion and secure our Play Off sport.

‘Coming away from The Den won’t do us any harm.’

With Rochdale, Swindon Town and Sheffield United now all next and involving some miles, Harris knows that with a heavier home calendar in recent times it simply had to balance up and the challenge for the players was obvious.

‘We have played a lot of football at home over the last three months and going away will be good for us over the course of the next seven days. It will be a big test for us and it’s one that we are looking forward to. Rochdale are a very attack minded team and it’s a tough place to go, especially on a Tuesday night, but it’s a brilliant one for us.’

With Rochdale sitting in tenth place and on the back of a four one victory over Gillingham, Harris went on to say.

‘They had a great result at the weekend and we will give them the respect they deserve. For Rochdale to get into the play-offs they will probably think they need to beat Millwall on Tuesday night so it’s a big game.’

Adding.

‘It’s also a big one for us because there were some frustrations after our goalless draw against Bury on the weekend. That frustration comes from completely dominating the match but not killing off the game. We had chances and some of the performances were really good – it’s all about building on that tonight.’

With an eye to tonight’s clash, Harris also said that Jordan Archer could potentially be fit for the game following the knock to his hip he took in the FA Cup victory over Leicester City, and if he wasn’t ready for tonight then he should come into play for the weekend.

‘Jordan is getting closer all the time. We hope he will be back into the squad but if he’s not ready for Rochdale then we will look to bring him back on Saturday.’
