GARY ALEXANDER scored a second-half stunner as Millwall came from behind to hold a Tottenham XI in Saturday’s behind closed doors friendly at The Den.

The Lions striker fired home from an extremely tight angle to level the scores just 16 minutes from time after youngster Alex Olsen has put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot on the hour mark.

Kenny Jackett’s side nearly broke the deadlock twice in the first 25 minutes, with Brkovic and Alexander both going close from point blank range.

And Spurs took advantage of Millwall’s inability to convert their chances when Alan Dunne was ajudged to have hauled down Danny Rose inside the area and Olsen converted from 12 yards.

But after Alexander had equalised in the 74th minute, Brkovic and Grabban nearly snatched victory with two late efforts that had to be kept out by ‘keeper Button.

Millwall: Edwards, Dunne, Craig, Robinson, Whitbread, Fuseini (Hackett), Abdou, Laird, Brkovic, Alexander, Martin (Grabban). Subs not used; Frampton, Pidgeley, Forbes, Harris, Grimes, Smith, Spiller.

Spurs: Button, Stalteri (Berniche), Pyo Lee (Hughton), Kasim (Hutchins), Dervite, Rocha (Fraser-Allen), Malbranque (McKenna), Boateng (Olsen), Barcham, Rose, Daniels.
