Midfielder and fans favourite Jimmy Abdou could make Millwall history this weekend if he takes to the field in the League One Play Off final against Barnsley on Sunday.
Our two time Player of the Year could become the first player to represent the club at Wembley on four separate occasions if he makes the selection this weekend, and of course he, and goalkeeper David Forde, will be the only players in the squad who previously started previous trips to the national stadium.
Scunthorpe in 2009, Swindon 12 months later and the FA Cup semi final against Wigan Athletic in 2013 being the other games.
Speaking to the official site having been made aware of his potential entry into the record books, Abdou said.
‘I’m looking forward to another Final with Millwall. As a player that is the place you want to play, but we are focused on winning. I have lost and won there, so we will be ready to do our very best to make sure it is our day on Sunday. I have been very lucky to have had so many chances to play at Wembley with Millwall. The fans have always been very good to me here and I want to make it a special day for them.’
