Jimmy Abdou was a hattrick hero with trophies in Millwall’s end of season awards dinner at the weekend.

The midfielder picked up three awards for his performances this campaign, taking the Supporters’ Player of the Year, The Community Ambassador of the Year trophy and the Goal of the Season gong for his header against Wigan Athletic earlier in the season.

Speaking to the official site after picking up the trio of awards, a surprised but proud Abdou explained.

‘I am very surprised but also very honoured. It is so humbling to have had such wonderful support from everyone at the club. I am very happy.’

Abdou also joins a select group of players who has now won the Player of the Year award more than once and chairman John Berylson flew in especially for the Awards dinner to unveil his first ‘Unsung Hero’ award which was presented to Stadium Manager Colin Sayer.

Lee Gregory won the Junior Lions Player of the Year trophy, and manager Neil Harris handed defender Sid Nelson the Young Player of the Year award.
