By this time next week everybody will know the layout of the coming 2017/18 Football League campaign and who visits who and in what order regardless of whether your life is in the Championship, League One or League Two.

Well, until the television companies get their hands on the fixture lists at any rate.

All 72 EFL sides will find out their fixtures for the coming year on Wednesday June 21 at 9am.

This year of course the top tier in the football league welcomes back Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland, and welcoming Lincoln City and Forest Green Rovers to League Two, the EFL pyramid for 2017/18 is complete.

Other known key dates so far for the year are:

Sky Bet EFL fixtures announced: 21st June 2017
Sky Bet EFL season starts: weekend of 5th August 2017
Carabao Cup starts: week commencing 7th August 2017
Checkatrade Trophy starts: week commencing 28th August 2017
Sky Bet EFL regular season ends: weekend of 5th May 2018
Sky Bet EFL Play-Off Finals: weekend of 26th – 28th May 2018

More on that once we’ve got the fixture lists themselves out of the way.

It’s also very likely as this week draws to a close we’ll see two or three claims of leaked fixture lists as well.
