The 2016/17 summer transfer window closes tomorrow – Wednesday August 31.

With the end to the month last season seeing the deadline moved to the much more manageable 6pm slot, this season it returns to it’s more traditional 11pm slot, so fans across the country will be up to the wee small hours of Thursday morning seeing whether or not their club and manager managed to eek any late last minute deals over the line before all the transfer speculation comes to an end.

Well, for at least a month before the media invention and agent fed nonsense begins again ahead of January.

In any event, with an 11pm shut off point, that will unofficially extend for a few hours with loopholes and deals in principle given extra time to get to 100% completion and going back to 11pm the obligatory itchy feet of Sky Sports’ roving reports having to deal with beered up giggly idiots with the obligatory marital aides interrupting broadcasts will no doubt be back as an added sideshow for the television watchers.

With an incredibly busy and expensive transfer window so far, the next 48 hours will definitely be an interesting period for some.
